A new hiking world opens up along the 200 km long “Millstätter See Höhensteig” hiking trail that joins the mountains around the lake. 8 stages, some easy, some challenging, at an altitude of 600-2,600 m, each one an adventure in itself. Ruby red garnets accompany hikers as they walk from the ‘garnet gate’ to the ‘star balcony’.

As well as garnets, many historical places line the way on the stages of the lake Millstätter See high-altitude path including the 8 most beautiful spots in the region. Hear about the ‘stone tables’ that were used long ago for rituals, or the monoliths that show the way to Mount Mirnock.
