Here I can be myself – this sounds like Defereggental! The three municipalities of St. Jakob, St. Veit and Hopfgarten make up the holiday region of Defereggental valley. Far away from mass tourism, a holiday destination has developed here where something is consistently and sustainably protected and a unique asset these days: an intact, incomparable natural landscape. 140 km² of this area belongs to the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Day 1: Arriving Already on the journey to the Defereggental valley you will experience the scenic beauty of this region. All along winding roads, past St. Veit and Hopfgarten, you will reach the picturesque town of St. Jakob. Having arrived there, you will find yourself in the midst of the Alpine Rose Festival. Soaking up impressions, getting to know people, enjoying culinary delights – all this surrounded by 3,000 metre peaks.

Day 2: Almrosenfest - 2. Tag Im Dorfkern von St. Jakob jagt ein musikalisches Highlight das andere. Gute Stimmung, gutes Essen stehen auf dem Programm. Am Nachmittag vielleicht ein kleiner Verdauungsspaziergang. Das Fest dauert noch bis spät in die Nacht.

Day 3: Regeneration day For many visitors the Alpine Rose Festival is a bit hard going. Therefore the motto of the day is to sleep long and have a hearty breakfast; maybe a bit of wellness in between or a short hike in the surroundings of St. Jakob. In the evening, the official welcome with multimedia show by the St. Jakob tourist office will take place.

Day 4: Today we’re off to the mountains On the agenda is a guided hike through the National Park, accompanied by an excellently qualified National Park ranger who knows lots of things about small and large attractions you see by the wayside.

Day 5: Romantic sunrise This day begins early, but the impressions are unique. On a walking tour to the small Leppleskofel you can experience the sunrise in the Defereggental valley. Accompanied by music, these minutes will turn into a romantic and unforgettable experience – you can feel your holiday from head to toe. Afterwards you will be awaited by a mountain breakfast on the Mooseralm pasture.

Day 6: Tyrolean evening Dance, music, good atmosphere. If you spend the day relaxing, you can liven up again here.

Day 7: Concert The Alpine Rose Week with music in the Defereggental valley ends with a concert by the St. Jakob traditional band in the music pavilion in St. Jakob.
