Nationalparkregion Hohe Tauern Osttirol
In harmony with untouched nature
Surrounded by the Großglockner (3,798 m), Austria’s highest mountain, the Großvenediger (3,674 m) and 60 other mountains over 3,000 m high, this region provides pure hiking and nature pleasure. 14 nature and cultural trails with various information boards, as well as Europe’s first water exhibition trail, the Umbalfälle waterfalls, complete the offer from the Hohe Tauern National Park in East Tyrol. Of course, the activity programme in this region, with mountain biking and bicycle trails, climbing parks, rafting, canyoning and kayaking, is also varied. Guests are awaited by an idyllic, natural countryside with genuine Austrian charm. The valleys and villages of the Hohe Tauern National Park region in East Tyrol have preserved their natural character, far away from mass tourism.
