The approx. 40 km long Alpine valley of Montafon, surrounded by mountains which are up to 3,312 m high, consists of 11 villages situated at an altitude of between 600 and 1,450 m and providing a total of 18,000 guest beds. Apart from villages with a predominantly sporty character and an attractive leisure programme, in the Montafon valley, you will find cosy holiday villages and peaceful relaxation resorts which are perfect for families.

The hiking area is varied. A total of 500 km of marked hiking paths run across lush Alpine meadows, through forests, from one mountain hut to the next, past Alpine dairy farms, across heights and ridges to the summits of Montafon's mountain ranges, Verwall, Rätikon and Silvretta. Numerous cable cars and chair lifts make the way up to the sunny heights shorter and easier. Mountain guides as well as hiking guides ensure your safety on guided Alpine tours and climbing courses. Several heated open air swimming pools and Gaschurn's "Mountain Beach" leisure park, established in 1998, with more than 20 indoor hotel pools, mini golf courses, around 30 tennis courts, 2 indoor tennis courts and two 9-hole golf courses complete the list of holiday pursuits on offer.

"Ill" hiking path from Vandans to Partenen:
At the little church of Vandans-Außervens, you will find the beginning of this pleasant hiking and Nordic walking trail which leads down from there to the suspension bridge across the Ill. From here, a flat path runs along both sides of the river into the valley, through a sparse riverside forest and across meadows, far away from traffic, always close to the beautiful river. (total length approx. 28 km, stages possible)
