The purpose of the association, whose activities are not aimed at making a profit, is to bring together places, communities and regions typical of Austria that offer ecologically and economically balanced tourism, and to support its members through measures:
- to promote a nature-oriented, year-round tourism development,
- for national and international information, advertising and sales activities
- for the marketing of hiking in the sense of nature experiences,
- for the creation of sales and advertising facilities in the public and private sector and other measures,
- which serve to achieve the purpose of the association, as well as the development and coordination of measures for the preparation of the nature experience landscape, or for the exchange of information and experience between the members involved, active information management and impulses for product and infrastructure development, as well as the promotion of cooperation, reconciliation of interests and networking, which go beyond the tourism sector.
